Understanding that getting a COVID-19 shot means missed time at work which means lost wages, the Greater Longview United Way is helping buy the groceries. Thanks to a generous grant from Your Shot Texas* and a partnership with Wellness Pointe, we are able to provide direct financial support to individuals to help bridge that gap while also providing them with access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
You will receive the following:
$25 gift card (while supplies last) to Super1 or Brookshire’s for the 1st vaccine
$50 gift card (while supplies last) to Super1 or Brookshire’s for the 2nd vaccine
Both doses of your COVID-19 vaccine free of charge
There will also be two drawings (December 17th and March 17th) for 10 gift cards valued at $500 each!
Vaccinations are being provided by Wellness Pointe at its Gregg County locations in Longview and Kilgore. A full listing of locations is available at www.wellnesspointe.org. This program is available to those who have not been vaccinated. Those seeking boosters are ineligible at this time. Vaccination eligibility is based on FDA/CDC approval.
*Your Shot Texas is philanthropy’s collaborative response to raise confidence in COVID-19 vaccines and increase access among priority groups — those most affected by the virus and historically-marginalized populations across the state.
The $2.7 million statewide pooled fund was created by Episcopal Health Foundation, Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc., and The Meadows Foundation. It is also supported by funding support from other philanthropic organizations across the state. The Your Shot Texas fund is administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation.
